Silent Sanctuary is now back with yet another awesome track entitled, “Malayo na Tayo”

If you’ve been into OPM from the early 2000’s, you’ve probably heard of the band Silent Sanctuary. Formed way back 2001, the band is composed of Sarkie Sarangay on vocals and guitars, Anjo Inacay on cello, Jason Rondero on bass, and Allen Calixto on drums.

After their 2015 release, ‘Langit Luha’, the band is now back with yet another awesome track entitled, “Malayo na Tayo”. A track about having lost someone you love and suffering in the process. Part of the lyrics go, ‘dahil malayo na tayo, kumukupas na ang mundo; sumpaan pala’y nagbabago dahil nga malayo na tayo; nandiyan ka at nandito ako maaalis ka ba sa isip ko kahit na malayo na tayo? malayo na tayo’, giving you an image of a person who still is certainly in love but who has already been left in the dark by the one they love. The opening of the song gives off the Silent Sanctuary trademark – the sound of the cello followed by Sarkie’s melancholic vocals.

“Malayo Na Tayo” will be available for streaming via Spotify and Apple Music, and also available for download via iTunes.

Film Review : Just The 3 Of Us

My notes on Just The 3 Of Us: 1. The movie reminded me so much of this late 90's rom-com with Matthew Perry as a happy-go-lucky bachelor who had a one night stand with a sultry Salma Hayek in Vegas. She ended up pregnant, they got married, and then discovered each other's personalities while fixing family and work issues. It was called Fools Rush In and I would have asked you to rent it in a local Video City, but I think all of their stores closed ages ago. 2. In this version though, the girl CJ (Jennylyn Mercado) would rather stalk the potential father and be the emotional punching bag of Uno (John Lloyd Cruz) who had a bad temper (F-words everywhere!), an a-hole attitude ("So what? Buhay ko 'to. Kahit mag-swimming ako sa alak wala ka pakialam!"), crazy reasoning (he wanted to take care of CJ and the baby, but made her sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed in the living room with poor ventilation), and a drinking problem that were all supposedly reasonab...
