MANILA MADE HISTORY: THE INAUGURAL HISTORY® CON DRAWS EPIC CROWDS WITH STARS, CARS & MULTIPLE WORLD RECORD ATTEMPTS A+E Networks® Asia’s first-ever HISTORY CON event drew over 50,000 fans last weekend to the iconic World Trade Center in Manila, and reached 17 million more online, along with HISTORY stars, local celebrities, social media influencers, exhibitors and other guests. Spread over four days from 25 August. The ticketed event was packed with activities to keep the throngs of guests entertained with its diverse lineup of appearances, performances, screenings, talks, demonstrations and other hands-on experiences.

HISTORY®premieres “Roots” on 31 May 2016 , airing over four consecutive nights at 9pm (PH).  The four-night, eight-hour event series developed by HISTORY, from A+E Studios, is a historical portrait of American slavery recounting the journey of one family and their will to survive and ultimately carry on their legacy despite hardship.

#1 series in its timeslot in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines, drawing bigger audiences The season four premiere of HISTORY’s critically acclaimed scripted drama series Vikings pummeled the competition on Friday night, as the #1 show in its timeslot beating all English language cable channels in Singapore, Malaysia (excluding Movies and Sports channels) and the Philippines (excluding Kids channels).

Epi Quezon as Apolinario Mabini in Heneral Luna The "why Mabini is seated the whole time" on Heneral Luna is making rounds on social media. The Historical Commission is grateful for the discovery of this rare photo of Mabini by the U.S.-based Kevin Soriano Perez in an auction and did not hesitate to bid for it, even it cost him much. A reproduction of the photo is one of the highlights of the Commission's Mabini Shrine Tanauan. Soriano, who was also from the same barangay where Mabini was born, in Talaga, Tanauan City, Batangas, will "repatriate" this rare Mabini photo and will deposit at the Commission for posterity purposes.
