The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA), recipient of the 2017 Ramon Magsaysay Awards is organizing a week-long festival that highlights the role of arts in development, as exemplified in the various advocacy campaigns the pioneering theater company has engaged in the past 50 years –Children’s Rights, Women, Gender, Health and Sexuality, Youth and the Millenials, Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction, and Human Rights.

The box-office hit “Kung PaanoAkoNaging Leading Lady: The Musical” is back on stage fully re-imagined and revamped through the fresh eyes of rip-roaring millennials. This pun-filled musical extravaganza brims with Carlo Vergara’s acerbic wit, flamboyant production numbers, and superhero-supervillain action sequences that pack a punch.

Michael Cassel Group in association with Disney Theatrical Productions announces the first international tour of the world’s #1 musical, Disney’s THE LION KING, to premiere in Manila in March 2018 with additional engagements in Singapore(June 2018), Korea (October 2018), Taiwan (2019) and South Africa (2020).

Denisa Reyes’s NEOFILIPINO once again bolts to the stage with new works from some of the most persistent voices in Philippine contemporary dance. Beginning in New York in 1987, NEOFILIPINO is a platform for Filipino choreographers to make dance the central force, the impetus, and the muscle in collaborating with the other art forms: music, visual arts, literature, theatre, literature and film.

Philippine Ballet Theatre in its 30th Season brings Philippine folklore to the stage in its production of “Filipino Masterpieces” featuring the epic legend DarangenniBantugen and other ballets such as Mantones and Vinta at the Cultural Center of the Philippines from September 23 to 25, 2016.

Pinocchio, The Live Marionette Musical (cast) Carlo Collodi’s popuplar story about a puppet named PINOCCHIO will come to life on stage by premiere kid actors of the country under Kids Acts Philippines. The first in the country doing musicals for kids and by the kids, is the company’s 14th Musical Theatre Season offering for school, parents, children and the entire family.

The Egg Theater Co together with the PARC Foundation and Pineapple Lab presents Moliere PMS , a fusion of three Moliere play adaptations: Praning (The Imaginary Invalid), Maniacal (The Learned Ladies), and Schism (The Misanthrope) on October 1 & 2 at PARC Foundation, 494 Lt. Artiaga St., San Juan City and at Pineapple Lab, 6071 Palma Street, Rockwell on October 7-9 and October 14-16.

Two fresh productions are set to bring Ballet Philippines (BP)’s 46th Season off to a good start. On September 12, 13, and 19, the company will perform Body Positive +, A Dance Gala for HIV Awareness. September 20 brings the comeback of HugotSa Rosas, featuring Ballet Philippines 2, BP’s junior performing arm. The performances will be held at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (CCP Little Theater).

Tanghalang Ateneo, the longest-running theater company of the Loyola Schools of the Ateneo de Manila University, is celebrating its 37th season with the theme "Staging Revolution/s". Teatro Tomasino, the university-wide theater guild of the University of Santo Tomas, kicks off its 38th theatrical season with a drama-comedy twin bill production titled “Panandalian” featuring Maria Kristine Roxas’ Traje de Boda: the 2004 first prize winner of Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Filipino one-act play division, and Njel de Mesa’s Huling Ensayo Para Sa Iyo. Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental has long been known as the Cultural Center of Southern Philippines, and for the first time ever, the Silliman University Cultural Affairs Committee, the city’s unofficial cultural arm, brings to Manila audiences AMPALAYA THE MUSICAL - an original new musical that will delight and educate, with a performance on 15 July 2015 at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, which is part of Silliman University’s commitment as the official regional cultural hub of the CCP.

Tanghalang Pilipino, the resident theater company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines presents its final  offering for its 27th Theater Season, opening at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (CCP Little Theater) this February 21st. “Mga Ama, Mga Anak,” written by National Artist for Literature Nick Joaquin based on his short story “Three Generations”, and translated by National Artist Virgilio Almario and Jose “Pete” Lacaba, Jr., into Pilipino from his original English play “Fathers And Sons”, is a poignant drama in three acts.

The Necessary Theatre proudly announces the Asian premiere of “ RED ” - the 2010 Tony Award Winner for Best Play written by American writer John Logan about the famous abstract expressionist painter artist Mark Rothko.   “ RED” is set to open on February 22, 2103  -  7:30 P.M. at CSB - SDA Theater, 5/F College of St. Benilde School of Design And Arts located at Pablo Ocampo St., Malate, Manila.  The other playdates are on Feb. 23; March 1 and 2, 2013.   “ Red ” by John Logan won almost every major award in London when it premiered in 2009 and went on to do the same in New York the following year.
