Teatro Tomasino, the university-wide theater guild of the University of Santo Tomas, kicks off its 38th theatrical season with a drama-comedy twin bill production titled “Panandalian” featuring Maria Kristine Roxas’ Traje de Boda: the 2004 first prize winner of Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Filipino one-act play division, and Njel de Mesa’s Huling Ensayo Para Sa Iyo. Panandaliancarries the theme of ephemeral redemption on our constant struggles in love and relationships. The production will be directed by JC Ribuyaco. Maria Kristine Roxas’ Traje de Boda transpires in a bridal shower that turned into an all-female friends’ bold and comical forum: opening up struggles in marriage, resolving issues with their husbands, and reassessing the role of being a woman.
