MA-I: An emerging manga series that is uniquely Pinoy The authors and the MA-I Adventure stories in comics form used to occupy a secure niche in Pinoy literature. But for decades now, Filipino comic readers have been more fascinated with foreign publications rather than indigenous ones, and our original Pinoy comics have been relegated to the background.

Tanghalang Ateneo, the longest-running theater company of the Loyola Schools of the Ateneo de Manila University, is celebrating its 37th season with the theme "Staging Revolution/s". Growing from a fledgling band of student players to one of the country’s leading school-based theater companies, Tanghalang Ateneo will stage this season three works that have been deemed revolutionary when they were first unleashed to the world.

“From Page to Stage,” Ballet Manila’s (BM) 20th performance season begins on  August 21 with Severino Reyes’ “Tatlong Kuwento ni Lola Basyang,” three captivating dance productions of love, fantasy and adventure. Lola Basyang was the pen name of Severino Reyes the former editor of the famous Tagalog magazine Liwayway back in 1925. In between running the publication he penned enchanting tales about magical kingdoms and strange creatures. The stories were published in a section called "Kuwento ni Lola Basyang."

ABOUT THE BOOK At a cosplay event, where mortal humans dress up to look out-of-this-world, something truly magical is about to unfold. A man dressed as a dwarf – or is he really one ? – hands a woman a bag that will change her life. Inside the bag is Moymoy Lolomboy, a child of a goddess and a mythical creature called tibaro. Though raised like any other human child, Moymoy’s strange powers surface, especially under stress. To get out of trouble, he shape-shifts! Moymoy is able to change his identity, but has yet to find where he truly belongs. Little does he know that within him lies the key to an ancient secret.
