An exciting 2019 is unfolding for Barefruit Group of Companies’ only Mediterranean food brand JM Shawarma as they are taking a bigger bite of Luzon by having Araw Gabi actor, singer and endorser JM de Guzman as their official face.

Kapamilya actor JM de Guzman will star on ABS-CBN’s “Maalaala Mo Kaya” alongside Nadine Samonte this Saturday (October 11). He will play the role of Joeven, a young man who managed to avoid his gay admirer through the help of his pretend girlfriend, Rachel (to be played by Nadine). Can Joeven and Rachel’s make-believe relationship develop into true love?

This was the direct admission of JM De Guzman when asked about the real reason for his almost one-year absence from the limelight. In an exclusive interview with Boy Abunda which aired on “The Buzz” Sunday, De Guzman said he personally asked his late grandfather to send him to rehab. “Pinasok po ako sa rehab dahil unmanageable na ako. Gumamit po ako ng droga. Sinubukan ko 'yung hindi dapat subukan… Naging iresponsable po ako. Nawala po 'yung disiplina ko. Lumaki po yung ulo ko. I lost control,” he said.
