KID PHENOMENON from EXILE TRIBE has unveiled the music video for “I’m still breathing”

KID PHENOMENON from EXILE TRIBE has unveiled the music video for “I’m still breathing,” the ending theme for Mission: Yozakura Family Season 2 Part 2. First released digitally on 12 October 2026, the single brings the seven-member Japanese dance and vocal group into the anime’s world of spies, family bonds, and loved ones worth fighting for.

Written specifically for the series, the track balances a fighting spirit with quiet loneliness, reflecting protagonist Taiyo Asano’s determination to protect those he holds dear. It echoes the emotional heart of the spy-comedy anime, adapted from Hitsuji Gondaira’s manga, which has surpassed 3.6 million copies in circulation.

KID PHENOMENON shared: "We are truly honored to have the opportunity to perform the ending theme for Mission: Yozakura Family. 'I'm still breathing' is a song that reflects the determination of the protagonist, Taiyo Asano, who never gives up and continues to face challenges no matter the circumstances. This work reminded us of the important values that resonate in the real world, such as the feelings we have for our families and the love that drives us to protect those who are precious to us.”

The music video for “I’m still breathing” was directed by Keisuke Nakashima, known for his work with Mrs. GREEN APPLE, Travis Japan, and LIL LEAGUE. By contrasting beautiful natural landscapes with sleek, minimalist spaces, the video explores the complexity of human emotions. It portrays the coexistence of hope and uncertainty, ultimately celebrating the many layers of what it means to be human.

The new release follows the group’s second album, “KIDS00’s”, which arrived on 17 June 2026 and reached No. 2 on Oricon’s Weekly Albums Chart. The album features 12 tracks, including “KIDS,” “Mirror,” and “Black Flame”.

Anime fans may already recognize KID PHENOMENON from “Existence”, the ending theme for “Rurouni Kenshin” (2023), which reached No. 4 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart and topped Spotify’s weekly Viral chart for two consecutive weeks. Their anime credits also include “Black Flame”, the opening theme for Studio Deen’s “The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess”.

“We poured our hearts into singing this song, hoping to contribute, even in a small way, to bringing this beloved story to life. We hope that fans of the original manga will come to love 'I'm still breathing' alongside the anime," added KID PHENOMENON.

Beyond anime, the group has taken their energy to stages beyond Japan recently. On 3 October 2026, KID PHENOMENON made their Music Matters Live debut at CQ @ Clarke Quay in Singapore, where they introduced their “TOKYO NEO POP” identity to international audiences. Earlier in March 2026, the group marked an important international milestone with their performance at SXSW, in Austin, Texas.

“I’m still breathing” music video premiered on KID PHENOMENON's official YouTube channel at 12:00 AM JST on October 22 and is now available to watch here: MV link.
