Ateneo Blue Repertory, the foremost college musical theatre organization of the Ateneo de Manila University, closes blueREP’s 22nd season with the highly anticipated original production, Toilet: The Musical. Back from the World Championship of the Performing Arts with three silver medals and one gold, up-and-coming musical director and blueREP alumnus Ejay Yatco returns with Toilet: The Musical- an original production that is set to be the most talked-about show of the year. In line with blueREP’s 22nd theme “Magkano Mabuhay?” Toilet: The Musical leads it’s audience on a journey into the lives of eight seemingly ordinary students, each with a story to share and a secret to disclose within the cold confines of the toilet walls. Ateneo Will Go Green If La Salle Will Show The Way

“Ateneo Will Go Green If La Salle Will Show The Way” is AdLSU’s campaign to showcase how every Atenean and La Sallian has the power to change the world they live in. From 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on March 31, WWF-Philippines together with Ateneo and La Salle institutions will again stage Earth Hour to inspire Filipinos to switch off their lights and dare their friends to save planet Earth. Inspired by “I Will If You Will” campaign, the digital platform is the result of an alliance between WWF, Leo Burnett, and YouTube – merging the world’s biggest social video platform with the world’s largest environmental event. For the first time, Earth Hour, to be held on March 31, is taking a creative leap from its annual lights out event to offer a further opportunity for its communities to be part of actual environmental solutions. Earth Hour began as a single-city initiative in 2007 and has since grown to be a 5,251-city strong global movement, reaching 1.8 billion people in 135 countries ac...

Christmas Begins at the Ateneo

Christmas begins at the Ateneo today with the opening of the Christmas parks in an event dubbed “Paskong Salu-Salo Simula 2011″. The event took place at the Sacred Heart Pavilion at the Church of the Gesu. The celebration began with a salu-salo slated at 4 p.m. and the official opening of the Christmas parks at 5 p.m. The Christmas Parks is an initiative of the University which hopes to “foster community spirit among students, parents, alumni, faculty, non-teaching staff and administrators.” Areas in the University have been assigned to various units for the staff to turn into their Christmas parks. True to the University’s environment-friendly policy, the materials used for the parks include mostly recycled materials. Indigenous materials have also been used in the parks making the initiative quintessentially Filipino in nature. What good way to show the spirit of bayanihan at the Ateneo than to attend the opening of this joyous occasion and usher in a meaningful Christmas seaso...

Xavier Hall at the Loyola Heights Campus Hizon tweeted this in the context of a strategic planning activity in Antipolo City, based on his post earlier in the day. “We have to consider our rapidly expanding population, environmental impact, and our many needs,” Hizon said, explaining the proposed move. “We MAY (emphasis his), but it still remains a long shot.” “Be at peace,” the school official added after his statement drew a mix of reactions from Ateneans. “We MAY does not mean we WILL.” Changing landscapes If the move pushes through, it will come amid changing landscapes in Loyola Heights – a popular hangout of students not...
