Iconic Filipino band Hemp Republic marks a monumental milestone as they celebrate their 25 th anniversary in the music industry. The highly anticipated event will also serve as an official launch of their upcoming 6-track release, The Mighty People , which promises to be a celebration of resilience, unity, and the evolving sound of Pinoy reggae. One of the biggest names in the OPM scene, Neocolours, will finally release new songs this year. To jumpstart this awaited music launch, the band signed up today with its record label, Universal Records. Universal Records’ top executives led by VP Ramon Chuaying , General Manager, Kathleen Dy-Go and Operations Manager, Peter Chan welcomed the members of the band during the contract signing.

Better Days formally signed a recording contract with Universal Records on Monday. The band is composed of Daniel Paringit on vocals and guitars, Jaro delos Reyes on guitar, Gelo Cabigon on bass and Rosner Mabuti on keyboards.

If you’ve been into OPM from the early 2000’s, you’ve probably heard of the band Silent Sanctuary. Formed way back 2001, the band is composed of Sarkie Sarangay on vocals and guitars, Anjo Inacay on cello, Jason Rondero on bass, and Allen Calixto on drums.

Moophs is a project born in 2013 when Chris Lopez moved to Manila. Moophs was the nickname of his pet Savannah Monitor who died shortly after the move to Manila. In honor of an awesome pet, Chris took the moniker as the name for his solo project. Over the next few years, Moophs continued to release original music and remixes in the self-proclaimed genre “Tropical Bass” - poppy future bass with a tropical vibe injection - gaining accolades from Vindata who named him an artist to look out for during an interview with NestHQ.

Eventually, the band added Roxy Modesto (tenor and baritone saxophone) and B-boy Garcia (turntables) to beef-up the lineup.

After nabbing the Best Rock Group and Best Rock Album awards from the recently-concluded 2014 Star Awards for Music for their hit album “Ultrablessed,” Sponge Cola continues to reach new career milestones.
