SOLO ARTS PLATFORM This museum and Galleries Month, Fringe Manila - in cooperation with the Japan Foundation, Manila - is proud to present 1SA: Solo Arts Platform, celebrating solo artist as they present their works on the Philippine stage. In its premiere year,1SA serves as an avenue for solo performances and exhibits to engage with local communities.

The National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) National Finals Week coincides with the National Music Week celebrations on the last week of November. To be held on November 21-26, 2017, the Cultural Center of the Philippines shall welcome young artists, musicians, trainors, and teachers who have reached the finals level in a nationwide competition that started early this year. Six ensembles presenting their region’s local traditions will also be presented in the Traditional Music Concert.

For Filipinos, classical music may not have a cult-like following like that of Justin Bieber or Taylor Swift. But young and accomplished performers of classical music are showing that classical music can be appealing, too. On September 24, winners of the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA), the country’s most prestigious music competition for the youth for more than 40 years, will be performing with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) to give a sampling of great works of some of the most prodigious composers who ever lived.

More often than not, mental health illnesses are trivialized – to the point that it is apathetically dismissed and ignored as a mere attempt to bring an afflicted individual back on an emotional level that is more acceptable and manageable for the common man. Mental illnesses are frowned upon with a stigma which is harmful to an afflicted individual.

Few days ago, we were very grateful to witness a one of a kind dance show. Doña Elena, the leading Mediterranean products in the country gave us a taste of Spain by bringing the famed Spanish dance group, Origen, to showcase a lively and passionate Flamenco performance.

A wide variety of exciting activities await the public in the  13th PASINAYA OPEN HOUSE FESTIVAL 2017: PALABAS AT PALIHAN ; the largest annual multi-arts festival in the country with more than 300 shows in music, theater, dance, visual arts, film, and literature to choose from and more than 50,000 viewers. Taking as its theme  ARTS FOR PEACE , the festival which will be held at the CCP and various museums and galleries in the city will feature excerpts from the works of over a hundred arts groups and thousands of artists from around the country.

Philippine Ballet Theatre in its 30th Season brings Philippine folklore to the stage in its production of “Filipino Masterpieces” featuring the epic legend DarangenniBantugen and other ballets such as Mantones and Vinta at the Cultural Center of the Philippines from September 23 to 25, 2016.

Celebrating its 40th year with its long-standing credo “Art for All” in mind, the Metropolitan Museum of Manila (MET), in partnership with the Resources for the Blind, Inc. (RBI), with the support of National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Touch The Artist’s Vision Inclusivity & Accessibility Advocate Group and the Rotary Club of San Juan del Monte, will host Accessibility for the Blind, a sensitivity training workshop on October 1 (Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

With the aim of celebrating Filipino artists who live and breathe for their craft, Para Sa Siningis, once again, preparing us the most unique and diverse creations at their upcoming collaborative arts festival called, “Sikuna.” Running on its second year,Sikuna combines the two Filipino words “sining,” which translates to “art,” and “kuna,” which translates to"cradle.” The festival was first launched on August 1, 2015 at the Century City Mall Events Center in Makati City.

Due to popular request, Artist Playground’s “Happiness is a Pearl,” has been extended for a two-weekend run beginning July 6-10 and July 13-17, 2016 at the 1701 The Little Room Upstairs located at Landsdale Tower, Mother Ignacia St. corner Timog Avenue, Quezon City.

ANG PAGSIDHI AY PAGLAYA. Katha is an avenue for artists and audience where they can freely express and experience art. This April Para Sa Sining gathered individual writers, dancers, performers and spoken word groups as well as dance groups to collaborate and give life to poetry. The event features poems interpreted through movement and dance.

The Artist Playground, Arte Pintura and Talent Factory Incorporated proudly present NURSERY OF CURIOSITIES -- A SOLO EXHIBIT BY NASSER LUBAY. A cocktail reception and formal opening ceremonies with distinguished special guests of honor from the seven fields of art will be held on May 15 Sunday- 6 pm at the Arte Pintura Gallery located at the G/F The Address at Wack Wack, Wack Wack Road, Mandaluyong City
