Teatro Pinas Review : ANG DRESSING ROOM: Kung Saan Lubusang Pangungulila Ang Dulot Ng Agos Ng Panahon

THE DRESSING ROOM: That Which Flows Away Ultimately Becomes Nostalgia, is truly a remarkable piece seeing both performances of both female set on the first staging and now the male set, shows the uniformity of the artistic direction at the same time the freedom of each artists to execute the given role that they are portraying. Uniform, in a manner that the message is clear and how the artistic direction was executed. It has an intelligent way of showing how the different sets of actors according to gender executed their characters. Also, how the chosen language affect the audience and the flow of the story. Of course people, or locals rather would be more comfortable to hear their own language, but depending on the crowd both of them has the same level of ingenuity, humor and emotions.

Teatro Pinas Review : Trumperte is the ultimate political spoof mash-up

"An original satirical live show guaranteed to be brave, explosive, and delightfully entertaining! As the meme-able title implies, Trumperte is the ultimate political spoof mash-up. Here, Jon Santos inaugurates his hilarious impressions of Their Excellencies President Ronald McDonald Trump and Pangulong DuThirty along with other celebrities and other icons!"

Teatro Pinas Review : Guadalupe The Musical

REVIEW Act one opened with an Aztec dance number which sets the mood and the theme of the whole show as it narrates the Mexican origins through its costumes, musical arrangement, lights and most of all the set design and the costumes. The overall aesthetics of the production has an edge and very competitive to the international theater scene.

Theater Review : Reasons Why You Should Not Miss Disney’s Newsies

Reasons Why You Should Not Miss Disney’s Newsies Joe Caliro of Globe Live welcomed us all enthusiastically in Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater to prepare us for a grander play like we have never seen before in the country. This project was made in partnership with 9 Works Theatrical , the same team behind other well-known productions like American Idiots and A Christmas Carol. This time, they’re bringing not just another play but a Broadway smash hit, the Newsies by Disney. According to Caliro, this show will set the bar high and will show things that have never been seen in any local theatrical plays. It’s going to be a milestone indeed as this play will have 100% Fililipino cast with GianMagdangal playing the lead character which will also mark his return to Philippine Theater. After watching the show, it seems like it wasn’t a bold claim at all. It is definitely one of the best musicals of the year! Learning Its Interesting Origin Newsies is merely based on the 1992 ...

Theater Review : Baril at Buwan sa Eb major

The Powerhouse cast of Baril and Buwan sa Eb Major together with the director Andoy Ranay For every person who has lived in this world, there is this moment of time that we have experienced pain, fear and grief. These feelings are caused by events that have happened in our lives; and will always scar in our heart and mind no matter how light or heavy it is.

Theater Review : Ballet Manila has challenged itself by presenting a not-so-traditional Christmas treat that surely delights both the kids and the once-kids

The Ballet Manila's Cinderella lead cast Whenever the Holiday season arrives, the most common show that comes to mind is “The Nutcracker”. This time around, Ballet Manila has challenged itself by presenting a not-so-traditional Christmas treat that surely delights both the kids and the once-kids. Theater Review : Ateneo BlueRep' The Addams Family

For someone like me who grew up in the 90s and If I will be asked to rank my favorite movies or tv shows when I was kid, The Addams Family is definitely one of the shows that I wouldn’t mind putting on top of my chart. The impact of either the film or the animated series is truly overwhelming that I still recall their iconic theme song (and that includes the funny finger snapping introduction and witty gestures). Addams Family has been adapted in different form of media.

Theater Review : Philippine Stagers Foundation' Bonifacio : Isang Sarsuwela

I understand now why Filipinos are always craving for that big change in our country. It’s because the history keeps on repeating and we are so tired of dealing with the same corrupted government. Yes, corruption and the greediness over the power and authority has been the country’s biggest dilemma even before the very first Philippine government was established! Flying voters?  Bribery?  Treason?

Theater Review : Tanghalang Ateneo' Boy by Anna Ziegler

Tanghalang Ateneo, the longest-running theater company of the Ateneo De Manila University, opened its 38th season: De/Constructing Narratives with a thought-provoking play titled Boy by Anna Ziegler. Cholo Barretto portrayed the title role and he lived up to the challenge very well. There was a clear-cut line between him as the real Adam Turner and what has been an imaginary/pretentious character Samantha.
