Richard Poon sings hits of Burt Bacharach in new album

The country’s premiere crooner Richard Poon interprets some of Burt Bacharach’s biggest hits in her new album aptly titled “The Crooner Sings Bacharach.” This is Richard’s second album with Universal Records, after the album “Legends,” which was awarded Gold. The album consists of 12 Bacharach classics including “What The World Needs Now,” “I Say A Little Prayer,” “Don’t Make Me Over,” “Close To You,” “Raindrops Keeps Falling On My Head,” among others. “I think this is the best album I’ve ever done ever kasi even my record label executives are raving about it,” shares Richard. “It’s a nice album taas kamay ko sa mga arrangers ko.” “The Crooner Sings Bacharach” will have an album launch this October 3, Friday, Shangrila Plaza East Wing. Advanced copies of the album will be sold at the venue.

Richard Poon launches pop album Legends this April 26 at Eastwood

Say goodbye to the local Big Band Crooner, as Richard Poon goes back to pop with his latest album Legends, which will be launched this April 26, Friday, 7:00 p.m., Eastwood Mall Open Park, and April 28, Sunday, 7:00 p.m., Venice Piazza at McKinley Hill. In Legends, Richard traces his pop roots by singing some of the biggest pop artists in the international music industry - classics by Lionel Richie (Truly), Whitney Houston (All At Once), Barbra Streisand (Evergreen), Madonna (Borderline), Barry Manilow (Ready To Take A Chance Again), among others. “This is an interesting point in my career,” says Richard. “Aside from being with a new label (Universal), I am also going back to pop after years of doing big band.” Richard adds that he welcomes the challenge with open arms, and he hopes that people will continue supporting him and his music. Richard Poon joins Universal Records

Richard Poon has released multi-platinum albums over the years, making him the country’s premiere Big Band Crooner. This 2013, Richard has decided to make a bold move – to return to pop and join Universal Records, the country’s largest independent record label. Richard joins Gary Valenciano, Ogie Alcasid, Christian Bautista, Noel Cabangon, Billy Crawford, JayR in the elite roster of Universal Records of prime male singers. Richard’s first album with Universal Records will be out in a few weeks.
