Filipino moviegoers are in for a treat.  This coming February 15, fans and followers of the blockbuster biopic "Heneral Luna" are going to see a short film spinoff that serves as a bridge to the upcoming feature “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral," the second installment of Jerrold Tarog's historical trilogy. The short film entitled “Angelito” is being theatrically released exclusively with the offbeat romantic-comedy “I’m Drunk, I Love You.”

The Historical Commission is grateful for the discovery of this rare photo of Mabini by the U.S.-based Kevin Soriano Perez in an auction and did not hesitate to bid for it, even it cost him much. A reproduction of the photo is one of the highlights of the Commission's Mabini Shrine Tanauan. Soriano, who was also from the same barangay where Mabini was born, in Talaga, Tanauan City, Batangas, will "repatriate" this rare Mabini photo and will deposit at the Commission for posterity purposes.

The Philippines, after three hundred years as a Spanish colony, has unwillingly come under American rule. General Luna wants to fight for freedom but members of the elite would rather strike a deal with the United States. The infighting is fierce in the new cabinet but General Luna and his loyal men forge ahead even as his military decisions are met with resistance from soldiers who are loyal only to President Aguinaldo (Mon Confiado). Ultimately, it is the general’s legendary temper and pride that brought him to his death...
