Teatro Pinas | FEU Theater Guild Serves a Darkly Delicious Filipino Twist in “Karne”

  The Far Eastern University Theater Guild (FTG) marks its 91st season with a bold and flavorful theatrical offering — “Karne” , an interactive Filipino dark comedy written and directed by Dudz Teraña , Senior Artist-Teacher of the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) and FTG’s artistic director. Inspired by Roald Dahl’s “Lamb to the Slaughter” and set in 1980s Lubotan, Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental , Karne blends Pinoy humor , mystery , and the rhythms of rural life into a rich stage experience. Using a mix of Bisaya, Tagalog, and English , the production invites audiences into a simmering household where secrets are as thick as the aroma of adobo in the air. “This play holds up a mirror to lived realities — bold in form, grounded in truth, and unapologetically relevant. The Far Eastern University (FEU) Chorale, celebrates the 20th Anniversary of its revival with a concert series entitled “Dalawang Dekada: 20 Years in Harmony,” which will also introduce its new Artistic Director, Mr. Roijin G. Suarez.

  The series opened on November 9 as part of  the 75th anniversary celebrations of the FEU Auditorium. The concert showcased the beauty of choral music from its origins in the Renaissance period up to the present. The FEU Chorale will also perform in a mini-concert on Saturday, November 16 from 6 to 8 PM in the FEU Chapel. Then FEU Chair Dr. Lourdes R. Montinola revived the Far Eastern University Chorale in 2004 as a cultural group under the FEU Center for the Arts. FEU Theater Guild's “Ang Pinakamakisig sa mga Nalunod sa Buong Daigdig” All Set to Open on October 2, 2024

The FEU Theater Guild (FTG) is bringing back the magic of Isla Esteban as they restage the play "Ang Pinakamakisig sa mga Nalunod sa Buong Daigdig" , closing their 90th theater season. Co-presented by the FEU Center for the Arts (FCA) and the Alumni Relations Office (ARO), this gripping adaptation of Gabriel Garcia-Marquez’s "The Handsomest Drowned Man" by Teresa Lorena Jopson promises a stunning theatrical experience. Set to premiere on October 2, 2024 , at the FEU Center for the Arts Studio, this production uniquely incorporates a water stage, adding a new level of challenge and intrigue to the performance. Directed and choreographed by FTG Artistic Director Dudz Teraña, with music by Jeff Hernandez and musical direction by Jesus Singh III, the play masterfully blends elements of magic realism and human emotion.
