The Far Eastern University Theater Guild (FTG) marks its 91st season with a bold and flavorful theatrical offering — “Karne” , an interactive Filipino dark comedy written and directed by Dudz Teraña , Senior Artist-Teacher of the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) and FTG’s artistic director. Inspired by Roald Dahl’s “Lamb to the Slaughter” and set in 1980s Lubotan, Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental , Karne blends Pinoy humor , mystery , and the rhythms of rural life into a rich stage experience. Using a mix of Bisaya, Tagalog, and English , the production invites audiences into a simmering household where secrets are as thick as the aroma of adobo in the air. “This play holds up a mirror to lived realities — bold in form, grounded in truth, and unapologetically relevant.
