The National Union of Career Executive Service Officers, Inc. (NUCESO) boosts the Government’s on-going campaign to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS among high risk groups as it announced a Fun Run cum Zumba event on October 8 at the CCP grounds. Aptly themed “Saya sa Sayaw, Sigla sa Takbo, Ang Laban sa HIV/AIDS, ay Laban ng NUCESO”, the fund-raising event aims to gather more than a thousand participants who unselfishly support the elimination of discrimination against Persons living with HIV/AIDS.
The NUCESO, a non-stock, non-profit organization, is composed of the country’s government career service officers or ‘technocrats’. Its President, Rosalina Bistoyong, now Secretary-Officer-in-charge of the Department of Agrarian Reform, is spearheading the timely campaign and calls out to all CESOs to do their share in reversing the increasing trend of the HIV epidemic.
The campaign targets the youth as beneficiaries of this special event. “We are counting on all agencies particularly those comprising the Philippine National AIDS Council to participate when all roads meet to firm up our fight against HIV/AIDS,” said Secretary Bistoyong.
An extra special treat awaits participants as Dr. Eric Tayag from DOH rouses the crowd with one-hour Zumba gig to cap this event, as well as, a miniconcert with special guest artists.
For a small amount of Php 300 for the 3K, Php 400 for 6K and Php 500 for 9K, each runner gets a special edition #NUCESOFightsHIV memorabilia and top 3 finishers claim their specially minted medals on stage with dozens of celebrities.
