Celebrate Filipino Heritage at “ADHIKA” — A Free Cultural Dance Showcase at Rizal Park on May 11, 2025
In celebration of the founding anniversary of the Department of Tourism, the National Parks Development Committee proudly presents ADHIKA, a free and public cultural performance under its Concert at the Park series. The event will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at 5:30 PM at the Open Air Auditorium in Rizal Park (Luneta), Manila.
ADHIKA is a vibrant cultural showcase featuring two esteemed dance companies: the Philippine Baranggay Folk Dance Troupe from Manila and the Parangal Dance Company from California, USA. This one-of-a-kind performance brings together the energy and artistry of Filipino folk dance, celebrating the country’s rich tapestry of indigenous traditions.
Admission is free and open to the public—a perfect opportunity for families, tourists, and culture lovers to experience the beauty of Philippine heritage.

-
Maguindanaon: Faisal Monal
-
Tausug: Airia Askalani Obeso
Featuring Celebrated Cultural Ambassadors
The Philippine Baranggay Folk Dance Troupe (PB)—the country’s longest-running cultural performance group—has preserved and performed Filipino tribal and traditional dances since the 1940s. Founded by Dr. Paz Cielo Angeles-Belmonte, and now under the leadership of Creative Director Ronnie del Barrio, the troupe continues to educate and inspire audiences both locally and internationally.
Parangal Dance Company, based in San Francisco, is a renowned Filipino folk dance and music group dedicated to preserving Philippine heritage. Through immersive research and outreach, Parangal connects diasporic communities to their roots while promoting cross-cultural understanding around the world.
A Celebration of Identity and Legacy
