Singer-songwriter brei releases debut single under Universal Records

Singer-songwriter brei is the newest addition to the ever-growing roster of recording artists under Universal Records. Coming from a family of musicians, brei has been participating in singing competitions ever since she was a young girl, including Idol Philippines back in 2022. And while she did not end up winning the title, that didn’t stop her from pursuing a music career.

brei was signed by Universal Records last year and now she is finally releasing her first-ever single, “Eh Di Pasensya Na,” a pop-rock song loaded with so much feels. It captures the feeling of indifference following a difficult breakup, with lyrics reflecting on the transition from a once beautiful relationship to one filled with regrets: "Kung di ka makalimot, di ko na kasalanan, di sumasagi alaala mo sa’king isipan.”

"Eh Di Pasensya Na" draws heavy inspiration from the artist's relationship with her ex-partner, as well as the personal experiences of people close to her. Ultimately, the song speaks to anyone who has struggled with a bitter past. “Para talaga ‘to sa mga tao na akala nila okay na both sides pero sobrang dami pa palang sinasabi ng ex nila.” she explains.

To promote her debut single, brei will be releasing a visualizer on Valentine’s Day and will also be going live regularly on her TikTok account, which has over 220,000 followers. Brei is pretty popular on the platform, with several of her videos getting millions of views.

With a catchy song for her debut single, a unique voice, and a quirky sense of style, brei is surely someone to look out for this year.

Film Review : Just The 3 Of Us

My notes on Just The 3 Of Us: 1. The movie reminded me so much of this late 90's rom-com with Matthew Perry as a happy-go-lucky bachelor who had a one night stand with a sultry Salma Hayek in Vegas. She ended up pregnant, they got married, and then discovered each other's personalities while fixing family and work issues. It was called Fools Rush In and I would have asked you to rent it in a local Video City, but I think all of their stores closed ages ago. 2. In this version though, the girl CJ (Jennylyn Mercado) would rather stalk the potential father and be the emotional punching bag of Uno (John Lloyd Cruz) who had a bad temper (F-words everywhere!), an a-hole attitude ("So what? Buhay ko 'to. Kahit mag-swimming ako sa alak wala ka pakialam!"), crazy reasoning (he wanted to take care of CJ and the baby, but made her sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed in the living room with poor ventilation), and a drinking problem that were all supposedly reasonab...
