PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN CONCERTS, PLAYS, AND FILMS IN SELECT MANILA VENUES WITH CCP PASINAYA 2025

The CCP Pasinaya Open House Festival extends its reach this year with even more venues across Metro Manila from February 1 to 2, 2025. With the theme “Para sa Lahat!”, the country’s largest multi-arts festival is now more inclusive and accessible.

Dive into the vast Philippines’ cultural tapestry with CCP Pasinaya at the CCP Complex (CCP Front Lawn, Liwasang Kalikhasan, and Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez), Aliw Theater, the Circuit Performing Arts Theater (CPAT), Intramuros (Baluarte de San Diego and Fort Santiago), and the Metropolitan Theater (MET) in Manila.

“The CCP continuously creates more opportunities for all Filipino artists to showcase their talents to a wider audience. While we pursue our vision of cultivating and enhancing appreciation of Philippine arts, we also give the public free opportunities to experience exceptional artistic performances that can inspire and change their lives. Mabuhay ang sining!” said CCP Vice President and Artistic Director Dennis N. Marasigan as the CCP Complex serves as CCP Pasinaya’s homecourt in its 19th edition.

At the CCP Front Lawn, the beauty of dance takes center stage. Likhang Sining Dance Company, Marikina Dance Guild, and the Kalilayan Folkloric Group will dazzle audiences as early as 8 a.m. Barangay Ukulele, an organization of various ukulele clubs and communities, will perform a flash mob dance with over 150 participants.

Experience literary performances at the CCP Liwasang Kalikhasan from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Kapisanan ng Diwa at Panitik, and MAMULAT of the Philippine Normal University grace the CCP Pasinaya stage with their passion for the arts. Laya Philippines and Kapisanan ng mga Mag-aaral na Manunulat sa Pilipino will also perform along with Sintalab, Ang Pinoy Storytellers, and Samahang Lazaro Francisco.

Meanwhile, Gawad Alternatibo and Cinemalaya films, Tanghalang Pilipino’s “Pingkian Isang Musikal”, Philippine Educational Theater Association’s “Walang Aray”, and other plays will screen for free at the TIG Auditorium and Parking Area.

In this edition of CCP Pasinaya, festival goers can explore Philippine landmarks and mythology through the new component, Palaro. With live gameplay demos, tournaments, and a simulation of the nation’s iconic heroes and landmarks crafted by the CCP Game and Comics Development grantees, a friendly competition inspires camaraderie from the confines of the TIG Basement.

Aliw Theater joins CCP Pasinaya with world-class performances from Ballet Philippines, the Philippine Suzuki Youth Orchestra, and the Philippine Ballet Theater. CCP’s resident company Bayanihan will also perform colorful folk dances alongside the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group. The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra will also enchant audiences with classic melodies.

Himig Rizalia of Rizal Technological University, Sandiwang Kayumanggi Folk Dance Troupe, and Nueva Ecija’s Bungkos Palay Performing Arts Foundation expound their love for Filipino music and dances at Circuit Makati. Ben Marasigan will also fascinate audiences while Elijah Lunaria skillfully performs with his marionettes.

The MET, one of CCP’s new partners in this year’s Pasinaya, transforms into an avenue for acclaimed talent with performances from Alice Reyes Dance Philippines, the Philippine Madrigal Singers, and Philippine High School for the Arts’ Sanghiyas Pangkat Mananayaw and Musika Ibarang. Highlighting patriotism at the core of public service, Lipa Actors Company will narrate “Sa Puso ng Paglilingkod: The Josefa Llanes Escoda Musical”.

Young Filipino artists take the lead in the CCP Pasinaya shows at Intramuros. In Fort Santiago, UST Salinggawi, Timoteo Paez Elementary School Rondalla, and SPA Bataan National High School prove that talent knows no age. Indak Kultura Dance Company and Philippine Baranggay Folk Dance Troupe present the nation’s folk dances.

Adamson Dance Company, Komedya ng Don Galo, and Koro Ilustrado narrate stories of life and love in Baluarte De San Diego through music and dance. Fresh from its historic win at the Tolosa Choral Competition last October 2024, Sing Philippines Youth Choir brings the audience together through choral music alongside the Eastern Chamber Singers.

For its component Paseo Museo, CCP Pasinaya partners with galleries and museums around Manila and Pasay to offer audiences a hop-on, hop-off tour. Partner museums will also host performances of varying art forms such as chamber music, puppet theater, and dances.

CCP Pasinaya has grown from a marketing tactic into an unwavering display of passion toward the Philippines’ cultural heritage since its establishment in 2005. Now an avenue for art exploration and collaboration, the multi-arts festival utilizes a See-All-You-Can, Workshop-All-You-Can, Network-All-You-Can, and Pay-What-You-Can scheme for artists and audiences to enjoy.

The CCP keeps true to its mandate of preserving and promoting the nation’s artistic excellence through producing events like the CCP Pasinaya, Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, and the Virgin Labfest. While consistently bringing arts and culture closer to Filipinos, the CCP creates greater opportunities for cultural expression and encourages art appreciation.

Online registration for CCP Pasinaya via EventBrite is now open at https://bit.ly/CCPPasinayaParaSaLahat.
