Dingdong Dantes is the new endorser of MESA Restaurant

Filipinos love to eat. However, we are picky and our palates only recognize flavorful dishes, and the presentation of the food matters as well. When we go out to eat, we try other cuisines rather than our own and always try something new. When we eat at restos that serve local food, we search for that x factor. I consider our local cuisine as the best in the world but there's must be only a few places that I can honestly say serve excellent Filipino food.

MESA Filipino Moderne serves authentic Filipino food and is a top choice for balikbayans. Who can blame them? Their signature innovative dishes are to die for! MESA is famous for its ambiance, variety of Filipino dishes, presentation of food and value for money.  I have recently been invited to their Tomas Morato branch for a press conference wherein they introduced their endorser, Dingdong Dantes, actor, television presenter, dancer, commercial model, and film producer who largely considers himself as a foodie.

"We needed a modern family man that is wholesome so that's why we chose Dingdong because he fits the bill very much well and represents the Mesa brand to the fullest" says Eric Dee,Chief Operating Officer of Foodie Global Concepts. Dingdong replied with "We also strive to be our best especially as individuals  pero para sa akin lalo na ngayon may pamilya na ako.  I'm just so happy  to represent a brand that has the same core values. Excited ako na makasama sila sa kanilang #Roadto100 stores."

The actor described his Mesa favorite as Baby quid and olive oil. "Pwede siyang ulam at pwede ding pulutan. pwede ding merienda i-didip mo yung tinapay sa olive oil o syempre pwede sa kanin. Para akin kasi it's really a privilege to represent something that I believe in lalong lalo na at ako ay isang foodie. Mahilig kumain at ang go to talaga nating pagkain as Filipinos para sakin lalo ay ang Pinoy food especially me being in the entertainment industry alam natin gusto natin authentic but with a little twist of spice and creativity. And that is what Mesa is, in my perception."

"Im just so happy na andito na ko ngayon with their family representing something that stands for family and quality and service. Definitely, value for money." adds Dingdong

"Ten years ago we envisioned to cater to filipino families who came from abroad who wants to treat people from other countries to showcase our Philippine food. So our focus was to enhance the styling of the food to be able to fit the foreigners", says Rikki Dee, Chief Executive Officer of Foodee Global Concepts. "One particular dish the we specialize here is called crischon", he added. "It's a rendition of our own version of crispy lechon."

When asked about the target date of their 100th store, Eric Dee answered "About this year  we will head for sixy-five stores nationwide. So Mesa's vision of 100  would be targeted 2021.

They're on the #Roadto100 stores and is not about to slow down.  If you're looking for Filipino cuisine with a modern twist, Mesa is highly recommended. Be sure to try their best-seller Crispchon that's  wrapped in pandan crepe or tossed in chili garlic. Either way, you'll go crazy over it.

Film Review : Just The 3 Of Us

My notes on Just The 3 Of Us: 1. The movie reminded me so much of this late 90's rom-com with Matthew Perry as a happy-go-lucky bachelor who had a one night stand with a sultry Salma Hayek in Vegas. She ended up pregnant, they got married, and then discovered each other's personalities while fixing family and work issues. It was called Fools Rush In and I would have asked you to rent it in a local Video City, but I think all of their stores closed ages ago. 2. In this version though, the girl CJ (Jennylyn Mercado) would rather stalk the potential father and be the emotional punching bag of Uno (John Lloyd Cruz) who had a bad temper (F-words everywhere!), an a-hole attitude ("So what? Buhay ko 'to. Kahit mag-swimming ako sa alak wala ka pakialam!"), crazy reasoning (he wanted to take care of CJ and the baby, but made her sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed in the living room with poor ventilation), and a drinking problem that were all supposedly reasonab...
