CCP and National Museum launch 2024 Thirteen Artists Awards Public Programs featuring artists and curator's tour

The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) continue the celebration of contemporary Filipino art with the 2024 Thirteen Artists Awards (TAA) Exhibition’s Public Programs, following the recent awarding ceremony held on October 6, 2025 and the official start of the 2024 TAA Exhibition on October 7, 2025 at the National Museum of Fine Arts.

In line with the celebration of Museums and Galleries Month, this program features a compelling series of artist talks and a curator-led exhibition tour, offering the public an opportunity to engage with the 2024 TAA awardees and curator and gain deeper insights into their creative journeys.

The artists talks began on October 11, 2025, with “Bodies, Myths, and Intimacies,” moderated by Rica Estrada Uson, officer-in-charge of CCP Visual Arts and Museum Division, featuring artists Catalina Africa, Russ Ligtas, Joshua Serafin, and Jel Suarez at the OsmeƱa Hall of the National Museum of Fine Arts. The conversation will continue on November 8 with “Identity, Memory, and Postcolonial Thought,” moderated by the Thirteen Artists Awards 2024 Exhibit curator Mervy Pueblo, and joined by artists Denver Garza, Henrielle Baltazar Pagkaliwangan, and Liv Vinluan. On November 22, the discussion will shift to “Materials in Flux: Process, Form, and Movement,” also moderated by Pueblo, with artists Tekla Tamoria, Vien Valencia, and Luis Antonio Santos. Concluding the series is “Advocacy, Environment, and Collective Survival,” scheduled for December 6, moderated by Pueblo, with featured artists Ella Mendoza, Issay Rodriguez, and Derek Tumala.

Complementing the artists talks is a curator’s tour of the exhibition on October 21, 2025, led by Pueblo, offering an in-depth look at the curatorial framework of this year’s TAA exhibit, highlighting the central themes and the overarching narrative that connects the works of the thirteen awardees.

Admission to all public programs is free, but seating is limited to 50 participants per artist talk and 30 slots for the curator's tour. Participants can register via bit.ly/TAA2024PublicPrograms

The TAA 2024 Exhibition is open to the public for free at the National Museum of Fine Arts and runs until January 12, 2025.
