A Christmas Carol in the Philippines

Christmas is the season we’ve all been waiting for. It’s the most anticipated time of the year. I know that we Filipinos tend to celebrate Christmas in different ways and traditions. Most of us stays at home with the family, others go to different places like malls to watch in a movie house and/or to eat in a sort of different in their taste buds for the sake of this holiday most especially that their having a wonderful moment spending time with each other during this occasion.

But this time, let’s take and spend Christmas into a whole lot of step-up experience.From Disney’s Newsies hot success, adding a little more twist, Globe Live and 9 Work Theatrical Production presents the return of this musical based on the 1843 Charles Dickens’ novella, “A Christmas Carol”. Playing a huge role in this play will be the theater veteran, Miguel Faustmann as Ebenezer Scrooge, an affluent old man being bothered and haunted by the ghosts of his past, present, and future due to his bitterness and shortcomings in life. He realized everything after each ghost passed by that the spirit of Christmas is all about sharing and giving love to each other, most especially to families and in the community, as well. He begins to see the bright light beneath the darkness he once saw.

This awesome musical play, “A Christmas Carol” will be shown on December 7-9, 14-16, 21-22, and 26-27 at Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater, 8:00 PM. They will also have a show on both Sundays, December 10 and 17 and on the Christmas Day at 7:00 PM. This is directed by Robbie Guevara and for the production team, Santi Santamaria of 9Works Theatrical and Joe Caliro of Globe Live.
