Expect November to be a love month (well, way ahead of February; or is because of the Valentine's Day babies? LOL) as Dalanghita Productions proudly presents their offering of the year 2016 titled Tatlong Linggong Pag-Ibig starting at November 11, 2016 at the Power Mac Spotlight in Circuit, Makati City.
Tatlong Linggong Pag-Ibig is a showcase comprised of six different original one-act Filipino productions – divided into musicals or plays, depicting all the different first-time experiences in love.
The entire program will be divided into two sets. Set A will feature “Isanlibong Taon,” “Mula sa Kulimliman,” and “Malapit Man, Malayo Rin” while Set B will showcase “Corazon Negro,” “Rom.Com,” and “Ang Una at Comeback Album ni Pete.”
Isanlibong Taon, a musical created by Playwright Pertee Brinas, Ejay Yatco and Director Guelan Luarca, depicts Philip and the challenges on a 'backward society' dealt upon his homecoming. RJ Santillan will be portraying the lead role.
First staged during the 12th Virgin Labfest held last June, Mula sa Kulimliman is about an ordinary hosuewife who's about to face a shocking truth about her husband; and most importantly, her life. Written by Carlo Vergara, directed by Hazel Gutierrez, the play features actors Jonathan Tadioan as Gorio, Jonathan Castillo as Jerome, and actress Mayen Estanero as the main character Lilia.
Malapit Man, Malayo Rin is poised to be a modern-day LRD feels, thanks to the horrendous traffic of Metro Manila. Boy from the North meets the girl from the South, and they are on the verge of celebrating their 3th month as a couple; but everything has to be decided in solving what has been a roadblock to their union. Roi Calilong and Patricia Liwanag will portray the lead roles of this play written by Chris Martinez and directed by Melvin Lee.
Corazon Negro, an operetta created by Layeta Bugoy (playwright), Jet Balsamo (music) and directed by Tuxqs Rutaquio, is about an unrequited love, its ordeals, and even the so-called love triangle. Mayen Estranillo portrays the lead Maestra, a Filipino teacher during the Spanish period, who falls in love with grave digger Honorado (Al Gatmaitan), who then is in love with the church querida Illuminada (Natasha Cabrera).
Rom.Com may looked like an online website for dating, but rather it tells the story of a clash between romantic belief done in such a way that is in contrast to what has been a typical one thru its template and clichés. Written and directed by George de Jesus, Rom.Com stars Jet Pangan as the cynical realist William, and Sarah Facuri as the hopeless romantic Beth.
And last but not the least, Ang Una at Comeback Album ni Pete is the brainchild of the notable spoken word artist Juan Miguel Severo. It tells the story of an ex-child star, who's aiming for the comeback in the entertainment spotlight as a singer-songwriter. That being said, Pete's manager recruits Darlene, a another rising star who happens to be Pete's first love. However, things will go rocky as their tandem starts to create a rift in the songwriter's budding romance with a hopeful band road manager named Diwata. Mara Paulina Marasigan will direct this musical.
Tatlong Linggong Pag-Ibig will be staged in three weekends starting this Friday, November 11 til Sunday, November 27. Tickets are available thru Ticketworld at 891-9999.
