2nd Cine Filipino Film Festival finally revealed


Finally after the successful 1st Cine Filipino last 2013, the 2nd Cine Filipino revealed its finalist for the up-coming competition on Feb 2 to 9, 2016

Here are the list of the 10 finalists in the feature-length category

  3. Ang Taba Ko Kasi by Jason Paul Laxamana
  4. Ang Tulay ng San Sebastian by Alvin Yapan
  5. Buhay Habangbuhay by Paolo Alessandro Herras
  6. I’m Drunk, I Love You by Jaime Habac, Jr.
  7. Ned’s Project by Lem Lorca
  8. Van Damme Stallone by Randolph Longjas
  9. Sakaling Hindi Makarating by Aiza Jane Idanan
  10. Straight to the Heart by David Fabros

CineFilipino Film Festival 2015, organized and led by Unitel Productions, Inc., aims to support and develop new cinematic, audience-friendly works of artistic merit by up-and-coming and established filmmakers to help define the human experience through a Filipino perspective.

Festival Director is Unitel President Madonna Tarrayo, Head of Competition is Joey Javier Reyes.

Film Review : Just The 3 Of Us

My notes on Just The 3 Of Us: 1. The movie reminded me so much of this late 90's rom-com with Matthew Perry as a happy-go-lucky bachelor who had a one night stand with a sultry Salma Hayek in Vegas. She ended up pregnant, they got married, and then discovered each other's personalities while fixing family and work issues. It was called Fools Rush In and I would have asked you to rent it in a local Video City, but I think all of their stores closed ages ago. 2. In this version though, the girl CJ (Jennylyn Mercado) would rather stalk the potential father and be the emotional punching bag of Uno (John Lloyd Cruz) who had a bad temper (F-words everywhere!), an a-hole attitude ("So what? Buhay ko 'to. Kahit mag-swimming ako sa alak wala ka pakialam!"), crazy reasoning (he wanted to take care of CJ and the baby, but made her sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed in the living room with poor ventilation), and a drinking problem that were all supposedly reasonab...
