GINUGUNITA KITA is a performance art featuring the original compostions of Jesse Lucas, a multi-awarded composer for film, television, theater and dance. This is her tribute to Maningning Miclat, a trilingual poet, award-winning visual artist and art teacher. Lucas set to music Maningning’s poems such as Ginugunita Kita, Tawag, Duet (nina Rizal at Bracken), Kulay sa Bagyo, Ang Naliligaw, A Stare, Verses # 2, To Catch a Second and Turn it to Forever, Panibugho and Shi Bu Shi (in Chinese, translated “Isn’t It?). They will be sang by soloist Banaue Miclat-Janssen with Renato Lucas on the cello and Jesse Lucas on the piano. Directed by film and theater actor Roeder Camaňag, the performance will also feature singer Al Gatmaitan and artist Delphine Buencamino. The twist in its ending is a piercing truth that resonates the tragedy of those who have fully experienced love and have lost it and those who have never experienced love at all. The Artist Playground proudly presents “ TAG-ANI ” an endearing love story of two people in their twilight years written by Amelia Lapena Bonifacio as part of the trilogy  Taluhan (Tatlong Dula ng Pag-ibig).

“From Page to Stage,” Ballet Manila’s (BM) 20th performance season begins on  August 21 with Severino Reyes’ “Tatlong Kuwento ni Lola Basyang,” three captivating dance productions of love, fantasy and adventure. Lola Basyang was the pen name of Severino Reyes the former editor of the famous Tagalog magazine Liwayway back in 1925. In between running the publication he penned enchanting tales about magical kingdoms and strange creatures. The stories were published in a section called "Kuwento ni Lola Basyang."
