SM Cinema launches 47th branch and four Directors Club Cinemas in newly-opened SM City BF Parañaque

World-class entertainment reaches BF Paranaque as SM Cinema, the country’s biggest film exhibitor, launches a branch at this city South of Manila with the opening of SM Cinema at SM City BF Paranaque November 28, 2013. The new branch has two digital cinemas capable of showing 2D and 3D movies and four Director’s Club Cinema branches.

Four Director’s Club Cinemas rises in SM City BF Paranaque

SM Cinema elevates entertainment at the South of Manila by opening four Director’s Club Cinema branches at SM City BF Paranaque. Director’s Club Cinema is an intimate, deluxe theatre specializing in above par personalized service for every movie lover. Equipped with superb projection equipment and the latest technology in digital surround sound, Director’s Club Cinema has first rate acoustics and a crystal-clear digital screen. Just like a regular cinema for every movie goer but well-appointed and elegant, Director’s Club Cinema employs 30-50 comfortable reclining chairs and offers delicious eats to accompany movie-watching served by trained in-house butlers; the menu tailored especially for movie-watching by SM Cinema’s in-house food provider Snack Time. To accommodate guests with special needs, two slots are dedicated especially for PWDs.

Apart from the branches in SM City BF Paranaque, Director’s Club Cinema is located in two other SM Supermalls branches: One at the Mall of Asia in Pasay and two at SM Aura Premier at The Fort. Director’s Club Cinema is expected to open soon in more SM Supermalls branches.

SM Cinema digitizes its movie theaters




To keep pace with the global trend in theater technology, SM Cinema has digitized its theaters—the first cinema exhibitor in the Philippines to do so. Following this trend in digitization, SM Cinema BF Paranaque opens with two theaters that are all equipped with state-of-the-art digital projection system, promising crystal-clear image display. SM Cinema BF Paranaque is the first SM Cinema branch to employ the Christie CP4200 projector. The Christie CP4200 platform is the only 4k DLP (Digital Light Processing) solution that is able to provide the world’s most brilliant 3D images plus the highest level of content security, easiest adaptability, operation and maintenance. Fully DCI (Digital Cinema Initiative) compliant, Christie’s 4Ksolution incorporates the proven design concepts of the best-selling Christie CP4200 platform. 

Moreoever, SM Cinema is also furnished with the most advanced audio system that delivers booming sound—making movie-watching more engaging and a great deal fun.  The two stadium-type digital theaters have a total of 372 seats designed for a cozy movie-viewing, with two slots for PWDs for each theater.

A more convenient and rewarding cinema experience

SM Cinema BF Paranaque is equipped with the turnstile system to facilitate the automated entry to all its entrances. The turnstile system promotes paperless ticketing. Instead of paper, SM Cinema issues cine access cards. The cine access cards are single-entry cards. One can also get a reloadable card which is referred to as the e-PLUS Tap to Pay card. This allows patrons to load credits on the prepaid card. It is also upgradable to a loyalty card so that for every transaction at SM Cinema and Snack Time, e-PLUS Tap to Pay cardholders earn reward points that are redeemable at any e-PLUS booth.

Film Review : Just The 3 Of Us

My notes on Just The 3 Of Us: 1. The movie reminded me so much of this late 90's rom-com with Matthew Perry as a happy-go-lucky bachelor who had a one night stand with a sultry Salma Hayek in Vegas. She ended up pregnant, they got married, and then discovered each other's personalities while fixing family and work issues. It was called Fools Rush In and I would have asked you to rent it in a local Video City, but I think all of their stores closed ages ago. 2. In this version though, the girl CJ (Jennylyn Mercado) would rather stalk the potential father and be the emotional punching bag of Uno (John Lloyd Cruz) who had a bad temper (F-words everywhere!), an a-hole attitude ("So what? Buhay ko 'to. Kahit mag-swimming ako sa alak wala ka pakialam!"), crazy reasoning (he wanted to take care of CJ and the baby, but made her sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed in the living room with poor ventilation), and a drinking problem that were all supposedly reasonab...
