Just now ABS-CBN and Star Cinema release an official statement regarding the Darna the movie. It is with deep regret that we announce that ABS-CBN, Star Cinema, and Angel Locsin have mutually agreed that Angel will no longer do the “Darna” movie due to health reasons. Because of her passion, dedication, and commitment to the project, she underwent various rigorous training regimens for two years. Unfortunately, this led her to developing a disc bulge in her spine.

Continuing its series of international tours, BP sets off once again to perform in China this October. The company will be at the Chongqing Guo Tai Art Center in Chongqing on October 26, the Jinrong Theater, Xiamen Little Egret Art Center in Xiamen on October 29, and Guangdong Cantonese Opera Theater Performance Center on October 31. The tour is co-presented by the Department of Foreign Affairs-Manila and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Similar to the Middle East Tour in August, this trip is an initiative in cultural diplomacy by the Office of the Undersecretary for International Economic Relations, led by Undersecretary Laura del Rosario. It marks the 40 th Anniversary of the establishment of Philippines-China diplomatic relations.

Philippine Ballet Theatre, Inc. (PBT) a Resident Company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines will present the classic all-family Christmas favorite, “The Nutcracker” on November 13-15 at the CCP Main Theatre. By popular demand, the “Golden Boy of Ballet”, Joseph Phillips, will return to Manila from Russia to perform the role of the Nutcracker Prince, partnering PBT’s home grown ballerinas,  Lobreza Pimentel and Regine Magbitang who will take on the roles of Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Artistang Artlets, the Official Theater Guild of the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Santo Tomas, has been in active service to the Thomasian community for the past 35 years. As part of the guild’s thrust to promote theater as an alternative educational tool for the people inside and outside the university, we will be staging our Major Production for this academic year 2015 – 2016. Prima Facie – “at first sight”, a fact presumed to be true unless proven otherwise.

Hindi ko na kailangan pang kuwestiyunin ang pelikulang Felix Manalo bilang sining dahil naibigay nito ang mahusay na halos tatlong oras na pagsasadula ng buhay ni Felix Manalo at ng relihiyong Iglesia ni Cristo. Marahil matagumpay ang pelikula dahil sa dami ng mahuhusay na artistang nagsiganap. Ito na yata ang pelikulang may pinakamaraming mabibigat na artista ang gumanap. Gayundin ang antas ng pananaliksik at sining ng pagsasadula at pagkuha ng mga larawan sa makasaysayang pelikula. At mas matagumpay ang pelikula dahil wala akong ginawa sa sinehan kundi magtipa nang magtipa sa cellphone ko ng mga katanungan na base sa pagsasadula ng pelikula. Narito ang aking mga katanungan (hindi bilang sining) gaya ng napakaraming katanungan ni Felix Manalo noong kabataan niya tungkol sa Katolisismo. Hindi ko ito itinatanong para sukatin ang anuman, ito ay tanong ko lamang gaya ng maraming tanong ko rin sa Katolisismo.

The 2015 ALIW Awards headed by its founding president Alice H. Reyes announced the following categories included in the forthcoming awards night to be held on December 3, 2015 at the KIA Theater, Araneta Center, Quezon City. Inclusive dates of the nominated shows and performances are from September 1, 2014 up to September 30, 2015.
