Synopsis: ZOOM is a fast-paced, pop-art inspired, multi-plot contemporary comedy. The film consists of three seemingly separate but ultimately interlinked story lines about a comic book artist, a novelist, and a film director. Each character lives in a separate world but authors a story about the life of another.

Last week, our favourite weekend barkada got together once again to celebrate Tita Bianca and Dwight’s upcoming wedding. The occasion also gave them the opportunity to learn from the engaged couple’s experiences and to reflect on their own romantic statuses.

Philippine Ballet Theatre (PBT) now in it’s 30th Season as Resident Company of the Cultural Center presents THE GREAT CLASSICS on July 29-31 at the CCP Main Theater with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Herminigildo Ranera.

Ballet originated in the 15th Century Italian Renaissance Courts and later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia.  It has been globally influential and has been the foundation of other dance genres.

If you think that you already know everything about the legendary man-god, think again. Fullblast Productions, the most exciting entertainment company today founded by the core members of Young Artists Production, is mounting an edgy take on our favorite Greek mythology character with the play Hercules: The Valiant Warrior of Thebes in September featuring the very talented Polo Ravales as lead actor.  The cast also includes Natasha Cabrera, Ronah Rostata, CJ Flores Marin, Paw Castillo, Fatima Cadiz, Hutch Perales, Jhay-R Baccol, Francelle Fetalvero, Jovito Bonita, Jasper Jimenez, Jasmin Salvo, Ren Medina, and Tina Dela Cruz.

The 6th Edition of the CineSB independent Film Festival shall be held from 18 to 29 July 2016 at the DLS – CSB School of Design and Arts Building. Cinesb is a fast-rising collegiate independent film festival in the Philippines show-casing the best efforts of Benildean students. It has grown to highlight the finest indie works from the regions as well as other schools.  It also aims to exhibit several film competitions and festival that encourages young filmmakers across the Philippines to explore their unique ideas and fresh perspectives through the creative world of filmmaking. Cinesb promotes the Filipino experience exercising the filmmakers’ wholeness and imaginative aesthetics.

My notes on Ma' Rosa: 1. The film opened with Rosa (Jaclyn Jose) hoarding what seemed to be packs of Ri-Chee and other chichirya for her small sari-sari store. Similar to that weird sweet milk snack, Brillante Mendoza's oeuvre would definitely be an acquired taste. As always, expect your senses to be assaulted by the headache-inducing shaky cam and the palpable stench of Manila's esteros emanating from the screen. As a sucker for poverty porn (that had been getting a bad rap in the local indie scene) and Mendoza's cinema verite style of filmmaking, I absolutely loved the entire experience. Ri-Chee, not so much.

My notes on I Love You To Death: 1. As soon as Janice de Belen showed up on screen as Kiray Celis' mother, all I could think of was the popular 80's catchphrase ("Oh my god! Ang anak ni Janice!!") that was used in the trailer of Regal Films' cult classic Tiyanak and spawned the flop sequel Anak ni Janice. Whether this was intentional or not, the movie's best moments involved the running joke of her character's brutal honesty towards her daughter's physical appearance. She was the type of mom that would scream "Wag mo nga akong ginugulat anak!" upon seeing Kiray's I-woke-up-like-this face or would recommend to fix her daughter's bridal look by covering her face with a veil.

My notes on Independence Day: Resurgence: 1. Similar to a Michael Bay classic, I would always watch a Roland Emmerich movie with below zero expectations and so I entered the theater armed with a tub of popcorn and a large Pepsi ready for some mindless alien action and global destruction. Hey, this was the director who was fond of destroying national landmarks and gave us disaster (literally and figuratively) flicks such as the first Independence Day, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow, and 2012. How bad could this sequel be, right?

Imagine You and Me (stylized as Imagine You & Me) is a 2016 Filipino romantic comedy film directed by Michael Tuviera starring Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza.  The film was released on July 13, 2016, 3 days before AlDub's first anniversary on July 16, under APT Entertainment, GMA Films, and M–Zet TV Production, Inc.

Dukot (English: Captured) is a 2016 Filipino suspense, thriller, drama film directed by Paul Soriano, starring Enrique Gil, Shaina Magdayao, Ricky Davao, Christopher de Leon, and Bing Pimentel. The film is executive produced by Malou Santos and Charo Santos-Concio. Based on true events, the film tells the story of Carlo, played by Enrique, who was kidnapped and held to demand ransom from his parents. It was released by Star Cinema on July 13, 2016 in more than one hundred cinemas throughout the country.

“Ma Rosa” Synopsis  ROSA,owns a small community convenience storeconnected to their home in the slums of Metropolitan Manila. Together with her husband, NESTOR, they use their convenient store as cover-up for selling illegal narcotic, Methamphetamines. their fate changes one Saturday night when their neighbor BONG-BONG, who works as a fly-by-night parking attendant,begs her to sell him a small pack of Methamphetamine without knowing that it’s a ploy for a pending buy-bustoperation leading to Rosa and Nestor’s warrantless arrest by a police team led by Sergeant CASTOR.
