10 Things You didn’t know about Jericho Rosales

Interestingly, he's going to celebrate his 20th career anniversary in local entertainment. 1. Echo likes auditioning and he actually vied for the role of Heneral Luna

Now we know that Heneral Luna, starring John Arcilla, is the highest grossing Filipino historical film. But did you know that auditioned for the titular role of Antonio Luna? He revealed it during the blogcon and admitted that he loves auditioning. Back to Hen. Luna, Echo shared that he was asked to gain 30 pounds and go back for the second call. Echo believed John is really the perfect actor for Luna.


2. Echo’s back to his original talent management Star Magic

For several years, Echo tried other talent managements to handle his career. This time, he’s back to Star Magic, which formerly known as Talent Center, and wants to work with its homegrown talents such as Jessy Mendiola, Gerald Anderson, Enchong Dee, Rayver Cruz, Piolo Pascual and more.

3. Echo sets aside, for the meantime, his music career

Echo has a passion for music too. In 2006, he’s the frontman of Jeans Band and also released solo albums such as “Change” and “Korona.” However for now, he said he wants to focus on acting and in fact, he has an upcoming primetime series with child actors.

4. Walang Forever was an answered prayer for Jericho

In his recent TV projects, Echo effectively portrayed characters in The Legal Wife (with Angel Locsin and Maja Salvador) and Bridges of Love (with Maja and Paulo Avelino). Since those were categorically heavy dramas, Echo shared that he prayed for a something light project or romantic-comedy film. Voila, the Ethan Isaac role was offered to him after JM de Guzman left Walang Forever.

5. Echo also likes KathNiel and Kimerald

His perennial love team with Kristine Hermosa was a big part of Jericho’s career, as well as their most successful project Pangako Sa Iyo. Apart from doing the remake of PSY, Echo admitted that he also likes KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla) tandem. He divulged too that he’s fond of Kimerald or the love team of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson.

6. Echo wants to work Jennlyn Mercado again

Echo said that his tandem with Jennylyn Mercaod is “bitin” (not enough) so he’s wishing to work with her again.

7. Echo open to do super hero or fantaserye ( fantasy series)

He revealed that he once asked that do Captain Barbell and especially Zorro. Panday is one of his favorite projects.

8. Echo is a big fan of Will Smith

He met Will Smith’s wife in Jada Pinkett-Smith in Los Angeles, California when he had an event for Alagwa. He said, he’s so starstruck that he was shy to ask for a picture with her.

9. Echo wishes to do epic films

Echo likes to do epic and historical films like Bonifacio and Heneral Luna. He said if given the chance he wants to portray a not so popular Pinoy hero, who he got to know when he visited in Malacanang Palace.

10. Kim Jones is Jericho Rosales’ biggest critic

Yes, Echo’s British-Australian model wife is his number one critic according to him. Thus when Kim praised him and commented ‘you deserved the award” (his MMFF2015 best actor award), Echo felt it’s like his best actor trophy became two.
