ABS-CBN.com ranks as the 8th most visited Filipino website

ABS-CBN has been leading the the TV race for more than 60 years by delivering quality and breakthrough programs.  Now in the digital age, the Philippines’ biggest media network has continued to trailblaze on multi media fronts.  By securing top spots in major rankings in the online world, ABS-CBN has truly upheld its service to the Filipino worldwide.  Fortunately enough, the  entertainment side of the business alone has won the hearts and captured the loyalty of netizens across the globe.

First off in the social media arena, ABS-CBN’s official Facebook Page remains the leader  in the Media category according to popular social media analytics provider Social Bakers.  With a staggering 9 million Likes, fans all over the world are served useful, relevant and engaging updates from the Kapamilya network hourly.  Join fellow Kapamilyas in this fast-growing community by liking www.facebook.com/ABSCBNnetwork.

Secondly, in the realm of the popular video-sharing website You Tube, the ABS-CBN Entertainment channel also holds the first spot among Philippine-based channels in terms of total video views.  Boasting over 944 million views and 1.7 million subscibers, the channel lets You Tube users enjoy highlights and previews of ABS-CBN’s beloved shows.  Also always raking in millions of views are the network’s celebrated and poignant Station IDs released seasonally.

And finally, based on international online analytics site Alexa.com, official entertainment site www.ABS-CBN.com ranks as the 8th most visited Filipino website as of February 22, 2015.  It joins news portals such as consistent No. 1 ABS-CBNNews.com, Inquirer, Rappler, GMA (combined news and entertainment) and Philstar in the Top 10, along with commercial and trading sites Lazada and OLX.  With this, ABS-CBN.com may be considered as the top entertainment site in the country.

Major contributors to the growing traffic of the Kapamilya site are of course content from popular and high-rating shows such as daily video highlights and updates from It’s Showtime, Kris TV as well as teleseryes like Forevermore and Two Wives.  Weekend hits The Voice of the Philippines, ASAP 20 and Gandang Gabi Vice also offer awesome and entertaining clips that quickly become favorites consumed by Kapamilya fans.

And what is entertainment without celebrities and the stars?  Also contributing to ABS-CBN.com’s success is its showbiz microsite www.push.com.ph with its dynamic dose of daily chismis and chika.

If competition is tough on-air, the digital world is also proving to be a veritable war zone for the entertainment biz.  There are still many lands to conquer and battles to be won in this different and complicated online race.  Hopefully with ABS-CBN’s rich history of telling good stories and offering quality service, while adapting to emerging technologies, its digital destinations will continue to dominate and lead the way for the next generations of Kapamilya netizens worldwide.

Film Review : Just The 3 Of Us

My notes on Just The 3 Of Us: 1. The movie reminded me so much of this late 90's rom-com with Matthew Perry as a happy-go-lucky bachelor who had a one night stand with a sultry Salma Hayek in Vegas. She ended up pregnant, they got married, and then discovered each other's personalities while fixing family and work issues. It was called Fools Rush In and I would have asked you to rent it in a local Video City, but I think all of their stores closed ages ago. 2. In this version though, the girl CJ (Jennylyn Mercado) would rather stalk the potential father and be the emotional punching bag of Uno (John Lloyd Cruz) who had a bad temper (F-words everywhere!), an a-hole attitude ("So what? Buhay ko 'to. Kahit mag-swimming ako sa alak wala ka pakialam!"), crazy reasoning (he wanted to take care of CJ and the baby, but made her sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed in the living room with poor ventilation), and a drinking problem that were all supposedly reasonab...
