"Dilim" Movie Premiere Night

Kapuso talent Kylie Padilla teams up with Kapamilya artist Rayver Cruz in a new movie titled ‘Dilim’.

Plot

Dilim tells the story of Maritess (Kylie Padilla), a simple girl who has a third eye, allowing her to see supernatural entities. Born and raised in Cagayan de Oro, Maritess moves to study Nursing in the city. She meets Damian, the caretaker of a dormitory in the university belt where she chooses to stay in Manila. Alone with no fellow boarders around, Maritess experiences odd things she never experienced while staying in the dorm. While Damian is on vacation, a nursing student named Mia (Ella Cruz), suddenly joins Maritess in the dorm. Mia is so mysterious that she starts to scare Maritess out of her wits.

This goes on for days until Maritess begins to try to figure out Mia’s connection to the nightmares she’s been having. Maritess finds the answer she needs through another Nursing student, Aya, who tells her about Mia’s sudden disappearance five years ago.

With the help of Emerson (Rayver Cruz), a part-time student/employee at a neighboring Internet shop, they uncover the secret behind Mia and Aya’s disappearance, unaware that their discovery would put their lives in danger.

Film Review : Just The 3 Of Us

My notes on Just The 3 Of Us: 1. The movie reminded me so much of this late 90's rom-com with Matthew Perry as a happy-go-lucky bachelor who had a one night stand with a sultry Salma Hayek in Vegas. She ended up pregnant, they got married, and then discovered each other's personalities while fixing family and work issues. It was called Fools Rush In and I would have asked you to rent it in a local Video City, but I think all of their stores closed ages ago. 2. In this version though, the girl CJ (Jennylyn Mercado) would rather stalk the potential father and be the emotional punching bag of Uno (John Lloyd Cruz) who had a bad temper (F-words everywhere!), an a-hole attitude ("So what? Buhay ko 'to. Kahit mag-swimming ako sa alak wala ka pakialam!"), crazy reasoning (he wanted to take care of CJ and the baby, but made her sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed in the living room with poor ventilation), and a drinking problem that were all supposedly reasonab...
