It follows the escapades of master thief ArsĆØne Lupin III, the grandson of ArsĆØne Lupin, the gentleman thief of Maurice Leblanc's series of novels.

The film will focus on how the series' main characters met for the first time and will reportedly update the franchise to a contemporary setting. It will premiere in Japan on August 30, 2014.
