WHAT IS IMAX? [1]
IMAX (short for Image MAXimum) is a motion picture film format and projection standard created by Canada's IMAX Corp. IMAX has the capacity to record and display images of far greater size and resolution than conventional film systems.
IMAX technology can recreate moving images in the third dimension (thus the term 3D), which gives the illusion of depth as seen by the viewer.
A standard IMAX screen is 22 meters (72 feet) wide and 16.1 meters (53 feet) high, making IMAX the technology of choice for large-format, special-venue film presentations.
