THE SOUND OF MUSIC:  THE SEARCH IS ON FOR VON TRAPP CHILDREN IN MANILA The legendary musical THE SOUND OF MUSIC is coming to Manila this September, and the search is now on for local Philippine children to be part of the show. Presented by Globe LIVE, the highly-acclaimed production comes from the home of West End musical theatre – the famous London Palladium - where the lavish and dazzling show celebrated a record-breaking 954 performances and was seen by over two million people. 

Twin Bill Theater Productions proudly presents the Asian premiere of “WIT” – the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Drama by Margaret Edson beginning April 19 at the Trinity University of Asia, E. Rodriguez Sr., Ave. QC. “WIT” (also styled as W;t) is about a woman's slow and painful death from late stage ovarian cancer.

The adventure of a lifetime for four celebrated men from across different genres kicks off in Tokyo on Sunday, April 2 with the premiere of the addictive new series “Better Late Than Never.” This fish-out-water travelogue series follows cultural icons Henry Winkler, William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw and George Foreman as they traverse Asia exploring different countries and cultures.

The box-office hit “Kung PaanoAkoNaging Leading Lady: The Musical” is back on stage fully re-imagined and revamped through the fresh eyes of rip-roaring millennials. This pun-filled musical extravaganza brims with Carlo Vergara’s acerbic wit, flamboyant production numbers, and superhero-supervillain action sequences that pack a punch.

To celebrate the past twenty-five years, the Ateneo Blue Repertory presents Company Call: blueREP at 25. The silver anniversary concert will bring together current members and alumni for a special event this April 8, 2017. Featuring some of the organization's most recognizable musical numbers and performers, the concert is about coming home to where generations of blueREPPERs discovered their passion for the stage.

Manila Improv Festival 2017 opened last Wednesday (March 22) at the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) with three performances from the Improv groups ASAP (Singapore), ImproMafia (Brisbane), and SPIT (Manila). These groups along with several others from Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Osaka, Tokyo, Mumbai and Brisbane, Manila, Bacolod, and Cagayan de Oro are here to share with us their talents and bring fun.

Hacksaw Ridge is a biographical war drama film about the World War II experiences of Desmond Doss, an American pacificist combat medic who was a Seventh-day Adventist Christian, refusing to carry or use a firearm or weapons of any kind. Doss became the first conscientious objector to be awarded the Medal of Honor, for service above and beyond the call of duty during the Battle of Okinawa.
