Movie Review : MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS (Kenneth Branagh, 2017)

It just wasn’t as fun as guessing if Professor Plum killed Colonel Mustard in the conservatory with a candlestick. Even with a cast of game Academy Award winners and nominees (plus some popular ingenues), this murder-mystery was a drag to watch.

After years of hearing the words Remember Me and immediately thinking/singing “kapag nag-iisa, kapag ika’y nalulungkot, huwag kang mag-alala...”, I was so happy that it had finally been replaced by the lovely theme song of this equally lovely animated film from Disney/Pixar.

GUGMANG GIATAY will be holding limited shows in Manila

Cebu’s runaway theatrical hit - the original Bisrock jukebox musical, GUGMANG GIATAY will be holding limited shows in Manila on Sunday, November 26, 4 p.m., during BGC Passionfest, and again from Tuesday, November 28 until Thursday, November 30, 8 p.m. All Manila performances will be at the Globe Auditorium of the Maybank Performing Arts Theater, BGC Arts Center, Taguig.

Two more acts from the Philippines in the Asia’s Got Talent Season 2!

The first eight semi-finalists gave it their all and wowed the judges in the first semi-final episode of Asia’s Got Talent. At the end of the episode, it was revealed that Indonesian singer Angela July won the unanimous Judges’ Pick and will now headstraight to the Grand Finals. The remaining seven acts are up for voting and only the two acts with the most votes will move on.

“Deadma Walking” makes it to the 2017 MMFF

“Deadma Walking,” a comedy-drama-musical about two gay best friends staging a fake wake, death, and funeral, has been selected as an entry in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. It will open in Philippine theaters on December 25 together with the seven other entries.

Transforming Vincent Van Gogh Ouevres to Loving Vincent Oil-Painting Animation Technique

The art form of visual arts are different from the art forms of the cinema arts. Painting is one particular moment in time, frozen. In the cinema, the images are fluid, seeming to move through space and time. Hence, prior to and during the live action shoot the Painting Design team spent one-year re-imagining Vincent van Gogh’s paintings into the medium of film. There are 94 van Gogh’s paintings that feature in a form very close to the original, and there are a further 31 paintings that are either feature substantially or partially.
