For the first time in Philippine performing arts history, three of the country’s most respected cultural institutions—Ballet Philippines (BP), Repertory Philippines (REP), and the Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO)—join forces to present a groundbreaking production: Peter and the Wolf & Little Red Riding Hood, happening on August 1 to 3 at The Theatre at Solaire.
Students are in for a treat with an exclusive 50% discount on tickets for the August 3 (Sunday), 7 PM show. This special offer makes it easier for young audiences to experience a one-of-a-kind collaboration that brings together music, theater, and dance in one spectacular event.
The production features Sergei Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf”, a musical masterpiece where each character is represented by an instrument—the bird by a flute, the duck by an oboe, the cat by a clarinet, the grandfather by a bassoon, the wolf by horns, and Peter by the strings.
Accompanying this is Little Red Riding Hood, a delightful ballet adaptation inspired by Charles Perrault’s beloved fairy tale. The piece, choreographed to the works of Camille Saint-Saëns and Edvard Grieg, reimagines the story as a playful yet meaningful journey about courage and kindness.
Running for only five performances—August 1 (8 PM), August 2 and 3 (2 PM and 7 PM)—the show promises an enriching experience for all ages with live symphonic music, theatrical brilliance, and captivating choreography.
