“The Singing Diplomat” or the “Renaissance Man” launch his new album entitled "Tribute To The Philippines"

“Tribute to the Philippines is a present I want to offer to the Filipino people after spending 3 years as a diplomat and artist in this country”. This is how Raoul Imbach, Deputy head of Mission at the Swiss Embassy in Manila as well as Composer / Performer with his group Raoul & the Wild tortillas describes the album launched on November 24th 2016 at the Marco Polo Ortigas Manila.
The album contains 14 songs of which 4 are in Tagalog, 5 are a mix of Tagalog and English and 5 are in English. All but one are original compositions. Half of the compositions are Raoul’s while the others are from the band members and from invited guest singer/composer DJ Grimm.

Two of Raoul’s songs are directly inspired by the Philippines: “Binibini” and “It’s More Fun in the Philippines”.

The album “Tribute to the Philippines” is one of the kind. Indeed not only is the format its cover unusual but it is the First ever USB-Album in the Philippines.

The USB-Card placed inside the album contains not only the songs of the album but also, 4 original video clips, a “behind the scene” video, a photo gallery video and many clips which include the lyrics of the songs.

About Raoul
Raoul is a carrier diplomat working for the Swiss Foreign Affairs Ministry for over 30 years. But he has been an Entertainer and Composer for over 50 years. “Tribute to the Philippines” is Raoul’s 11th album of own compositions published around the world in English, French, Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean and now Tagalog.

Some call him a Renaissance man as he has many passions and managed to be successful in most of them.

However music remains his first love.

About the Wild Tortillas
Raoul created the Wild Tortillas Band in Vietnam in 2003. It’s purpose was to accompany Raoul in his concerts and have old Rock and latin music gigs. He revived it in Korea and then in the Philippines. Only in the Philippines have the band members been so active in composing and presenting their own songs. The Wild Tortillas band is composed of Jaime Vilas (Bass), Roderick Manubay (Guitar), Rennie Vargas (drums), Ferdinand Salamat (Percussion) and Marlon Fernan who recently replaced our keyboardist Victor Lim
